In Outreach on August 4, 2010 at 3:22 pm

Stafford County’s National Night out at the Market Place parking lot in front of Target was a huge success!  And that was because each of you that came out and participated! The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office put on a display featuring The Special Operations SAR trailer with Sheriff’s Office Deputies and VGSAR volunteers and their equipment. The NAACP’s DJ was a huge success – he had everyone dancing away!

The events were part of the 27th annual National Night Out, which is designed to strengthen neighborhood-police partnerships to reduce crime and drug use. From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., residents were asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Special events such as block parties, cookouts, walks and youth activities were held.

Stafford Sheriff’s Office also had officers and staff present for Block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, youth activities, contests, anti-crime rallies and more in Celebrate Virginia, Falls Run, Austin Ridge, Hampton Oaks, Stone River, Clearview Heights, Woodlawn, Augustine North, Stafford Meadows and Brentwood Estates.
